Biomaker Challenge 2018

Our Synbio DTC students Boon Lim and Xiaoyu Chen won the Biomaker challenge in October. More than 50 teams from the UK competed for the Biomaker challenge in Cambridge which emphasie application of synthetic biology.

Our student made a Spectre Ultra prototype system which applies biosensors to detect environmental pollution and then sends the signal via bluetooth that can be picked up by mobile phone. This project won the “best biology” in the Biomaker Challenge. Please see attached file for the image. The news will be published in Cambridge Biomaker website soon.
